Have you ever been to Jakarta during monsoon season? Or when it rained? I’m wondering if you have ever seen these kinds of pictures. These pictures show how terrible heavy rain in Jakarta is. Not only should you complain about the heavy rain but also the construction of roads in Jakarta. When it rains there should be street drains where the water goes out. Unfortunately, as you can see these pictures, the water stays there and it will take a lot of time for water to be out. Because of the flooding, it gives bad effects. First, the traffic would be terrible. Drivers should be careful of water when they pass by the water. To add, because drivers should be careful about water going into exhaust pipes, drivers have to slow down. Furthermore, local people, who don’t live in an apartment, are impacted badly when there are heavy rains because they usually enter to their houses and destroy everything which people suffer from. Unhappily, local people do not have enough money to remodel the house. Solutions are government should develop construction of roads and donate money for people who lost money and provide temporary houses.

Traffic in Indonesia
Traffic is one major problem in Indonesia. There are many causes that traffic happens. First is the motorcycle. Since many local Indonesians cannot afford to buy a car, they choose to buy motorcycle because it is cheaper than buying a car. While driving, motorcycles tend to go between cars which cars may have to concede the way. Also, while you are waiting for traffic lights, motorcycles go in front and when the light turns green, motorcycles go first then the car which cars have to wait more. Second is the width of the roads. The width of the roads is quite short compare to other countries’ and drivers in Indonesia want to go fast without concession which causes traffic. The last reason why traffic causes is buses in Indonesia. Each bus has a helper to make the bus go faster. They usually get out of the bus and help the bus to go faster which the cars behind the bus have to stop which creates traffic. I think there is no way to reduce the traffic because the government cannot force people to buy a car and it will create another problem which is pollution. Making roads widely takes time and while constructing the roads, traffic will be more serious. Having no helpers for the bus will not work because it means that the buses should change. I hope government should do something for traffic for the people who are suffering sitting in a car for a long time.

More and More buildings in Jakarta
Since Jakarta is the capital city of Indonesia and more and more immigrants are coming for several reasons, like my family, Jakarta is becoming urbanized. A great example could be that there are lots of buildings. These are pictures that are taken from my house. They are building a new apartment, called pakubuwono signature. It has been only 3 months that they finished building pakubuwono view. The apartment that I’m living is called pakubuwono residence. The part that I don’t understand is that people are building a new apartment while not many people live in ‘pakubuwono view’. I strongly believe that an apartment should be built when there are not many places for people to live but people are just building more and more apartment. Also, building something affect people who live near that area. It is sometimes noisy. My mom always complains about this because they usually build during the night time. Moreover, I believe that that place was for local Indonesians to live but they were forced to move and it would have been hard for them to find house and others. Because of these reasons, I think that it mostly gives bad effects.
